Critical Illness

A serious diagnosis brings enough to worry about. Your finances shouldn't be one of them. Critical Illness Insurance, administered by Voya, pays you a lump-sum cash benefit if you're diagnosed with a covered illness, so you can focus on getting better.

How it Works

Critical Illness Insurance compliments your medical plan by providing a lump-sum benefit of either $15,000 or $30,000 if you're diagnosed with a covered illness such as cancer, a heart attack, a stroke, kidney failure, or Alzheimer's disease, among others. The benefit is paid directly to you and can be used however you need — copays, deductibles, out-of-network treatment, utilities, car payments, rent, or mortgage payments.

See the full list of covered illnesses here.

Earn Money for Health Screenings

You and your covered dependents can each earn a $75 wellness benefit for completing a health screening or test — everything from annual physicals to colonoscopies and mammograms. Click here to view a full list of eligible screenings.

Earn up to $225 per covered participant. You’ll earn $75 for each Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity plan you and your covered dependents are enrolled in.

Benefit Cost

Critical Illness insurance is 100% Coworker paid.

Disclaimer: This benefit is not health insurance and does not satisfy the requirement of minimum essential coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

Designate Your Beneficiaries

Don’t forget! Designate your beneficiaries during enrollment and update anytime during the year. Your beneficiary is the person or people who receive your plan benefits if you die.
