2027 Annual Enrollment
2027 Annual Enrollment runs Tuesday, October 27–Tuesday, November 10, 2026. This is your once-a-year opportunity to review your benefit options and choose coverage that works for you and your family for 2027.
Take a few minutes to review what’s changing, compare your options, and make your elections — you’ll need to actively enroll and verify your new dependents to have benefits in 2027.

You Must Enroll
You must enroll in benefits by November 10 to have benefits on January 1, 2027.
Current benefits do not roll over. If you don’t take any action during Annual Enrollment, your next opportunity to change your benefits will be next year’s Annual Enrollment window, unless you experience a qualifying life event.
Need help? If you have questions about the Annual Enrollment process or your 2027 benefits, call the Office Depot Benefits Hub, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. CT.

What to Expect in 2027
The cost of health care continues to rise, but our commitment to your well-being remains constant. That’s why we invest in medical plans that work harder for you, giving you more choices, better tools, and real support when you need it.
Your benefits are more than coverage — they’re about supporting the life you’re building. Check out what’s coming in 2027.
Medical Carrier
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) will be our new medical plan carrier. The good news is that 98% of UMR providers are in the new BCBSTX provider network, so most Coworkers should be able to keep their current doctor.
Changes to Pharmacy Copays
The company will continue to offer a variety of medical plans. There will be a few changes to the pharmacy copays, but the office visit copays and deductibles stay the same.
Medical Plan Option
You will have access to a new, low-cost HSA Basic medical plan, giving you another affordable way to get covered. The new plan is Health Savings Account (HSA) compatible, giving you the opportunity to save for your medical care now or in the future.
Sunsetting Surest Medical Plan
The Surest plan will terminate on December 31, 2026. If you’re enrolled in Surest today, you’ll need to choose a different medical plan for 2027.
Cost of Coverage
Medical paycheck costs will be based on three salary bands. Your payroll deduction may change depending on your band, the plan you choose, and your coverage level.
Participation in the Wellness Incentive and Tobacco-Free premium credit programs may also impact your rates. Review the 2027 Benefits Costs section in the Benefits eGuide for full details.
Prescription Drug Manager
Optum Rx will become our new pharmacy benefit manager for all BCBSTX medical plans. A few prescription copays are changing slightly.
HSA Company Contribution
Great things come to those who save. Starting in 2027, HSAs will have several enhancements for Coworkers enrolled in an HSA-eligible medical plan.
- Increased Company Contributions: The company will increase HSA contributions for 2027.
- No Longer Tied to Wellness Credits: Your HSA company contribution is no longer tied to receiving Wellness Credits.
Savings & Spending Accounts
Increased health care savings potential. The IRS has increased contribution limits for 2027.
Health Savings Account (HSA)
- Individuals — $4,500
- All other coverage levels — $9,000
Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
- $3,400
Tobacco-Free Credit
We support your health and wellness. Coworkers and their covered spouses/domestic partners who are tobacco-free will each receive a $500 annual credit on their medical rates.
The credit is already applied to the published rates. During enrollment, confirm your and your covered spouse’s/domestic partner’s tobacco-free status to earn the premium credit.
Voluntary Benefits Vendor
Voluntary benefits, including Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity coverage, are moving to Voya.
For your convenience, when you qualify for a claim under these plans, Voya will typically reach out to help you access your benefits.
Dental Premiums
Dental premiums are increasing, but your dental coverage isn't changing.
Legal Plan Vendor
Legal plan coverage is moving to LegalEASE, but your legal benefits will stay similar.
Wellness Program
Get ready for a fresh way to support your health and well-being. Our new Wellness Program will offer tools, resources, and personalized support to help you build healthier habits and feel your best. Stay tuned — more details are on the way.
Tobacco Cessation Program
A new, expanded Tobacco Cessation Program is coming in 2027, offering stronger coaching, tools, and resources to help you quit for good.
Benefits Website
Check out your new benefits website! You’ll find easy-to-use tools and faster access to everything you need to understand your coverage.
